Oxytetracycline HCL is yellow crystalline powder, orderless and bitter;It is easy to destory and fail in alkali solution when the light color gradually fades.Soluble in water ,slightly soluble in ethanol ,insoluble in chloroform or ether.Indication antibiotics.This product is a broaspectrum bacteriostatic agent .Many rickettsia, mycoplasam,chlamydia, spirochetes, amoeba and some plasmodium parasites are also sensitive to this product, Enterococcus is resistant to it .Others, such as actinomycetes, anthrax, listeria mononucleosis, clostridium bacillus ,nucaria, vibrio, brucella, campyobacter,yersinia, etc,are sensitive to this product.

Oxytetracycline HCL as antibiotics,have broad-spectrum bacteriostatic effect , the main treatment of Rickettsia disease, brucellosis, mycoplasam pneumonia, chlamydia infection , can also be used for sensitive Gram-positive cocci and negative bacilli caused mild infection.It is mainly used to have antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria, meningococcal, goncoccal and other gram-negative bacteria and the same application as tetracycline.
