Oxytetracycline HCL is s yellow crystalline powder; Odorless, slightly bitter taste and slight moisture introduction. Darkening in sunlight, it is easy to destroy and fail in alkali dissolution. OTC HCL is soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in chloroform or diethyl ether.

It has antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria such as meningococci and gonorrhoeae.

It is a broad spectrum antibiotic, and its antibacterial spectrum, antibacterial principle and application are basically the same as tetracycline. Many Rickettsiae, Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, spirochetes, amoebas and some Plasmodium species are also sensitive to this product.
